Infant Childcare Curriculum

In our Infant Childcare program, we understand the critical importance of creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for the tiniest learners. Our curriculum focuses on sensory exploration, emotional development, and building trusting relationships between caregivers and infants. Here's a glimpse of what our Infant Childcare curriculum might include:

  • Sensory Play: Infants engage in various sensory experiences like exploring different textures, colors, and sounds. This includes activities such as tummy time on textured mats, finger painting with safe materials, and listening to soothing music.

  • Bonding Activities: Caregivers prioritize one-on-one interactions with each infant, engaging in gentle conversations, cuddles, and bonding activities. These interactions help foster a sense of security and attachment.

  • Motor Skill Development: Simple motor skill activities, such as reaching for toys, grasping objects, and rolling over, are integrated into daily routines to support physical development.

  • Nap and Feeding Schedule: A consistent nap and feeding schedule is established to ensure infants receive adequate rest and nutrition. Caregivers use this time to create a calm and soothing atmosphere.

Our Toddler Childcare program is designed to encourage independence, curiosity, and social development in young learners. Here's a glimpse of what our Toddler Childcare curriculum might look like:

  • Practical Life Skills: Toddlers engage in practical life activities such as pouring, sorting, and buttoning, which help them develop fine motor skills, concentration, and a sense of accomplishment.

  • Language Development: Storytime, rhymes, and vocabulary-building games promote language development. Caregivers engage in conversations that encourage toddlers to express themselves and communicate effectively.

  • Creative Play: Art activities, music and movement, and imaginative play provide opportunities for self-expression and creativity. Toddlers explore various materials and techniques, fostering their artistic abilities.

  • Outdoor Exploration: Outdoor playtime allows toddlers to explore nature, practice gross motor skills, and develop an appreciation for the world around them. They might engage in activities like playing in a sandbox or exploring a nature walk.

Montessori Program Curriculum

Our Montessori Program is built upon the Montessori philosophy, focusing on hands-on learning, personalized exploration, and a strong sense of community. Here's a glimpse of what our Montessori Program curriculum might encompass:

  • Practical Life Activities: These activities instill essential life skills, such as pouring, cleaning, and dressing, enhancing fine motor coordination, independence, and concentration.

  • Sensorial Exploration: Sensorial materials like color tablets, sound cylinders, and geometric shapes aid in refining sensory perception and cognitive development.

  • Mathematics: Montessori math materials introduce abstract concepts through concrete manipulatives, allowing children to explore and understand mathematical principles at their own pace.

  • Language Arts: Language development is nurtured through phonics, vocabulary-building activities, and storytelling. The environment is rich in reading materials, encouraging a love for reading.

  • Cultural Studies: Children explore topics such as geography, history, and science, fostering an appreciation for the world's diversity and interconnectedness.

  • Individualized Projects: Children pursue projects aligned with their interests, encouraging self-directed learning, research skills, and critical thinking.

Pre-Kindergarden Curriculum

Preparation for Public Schools

  • Practical Life Skills: Pre-K students at Gloryland Montessori School are introduced to practical life activities that help them develop essential life skills. These activities include pouring, buttoning, zipping, and basic kitchen tasks. These exercises not only enhance fine and gross motor skills but also instill a sense of responsibility and independence.

  • Sensorial Exploration: Our curriculum includes sensorial materials that engage children's senses. Through activities like sorting, matching, and exploring different textures and shapes, students develop a heightened awareness of the world around them, fostering cognitive growth and sensory perception.

  • Language Development: Language development is a fundamental aspect of our Pre-K program. Children are immersed in a language-rich environment where they engage in storytelling, vocabulary-building exercises, phonetic awareness activities, and letter recognition. We also encourage a love for reading through a well-stocked library and regular story sessions.

  • Mathematics: Pre-K students are introduced to mathematical concepts through hands-on materials and activities. They learn to count, recognize numbers, and explore basic operations like addition and subtraction. These early math experiences lay a solid foundation for future mathematical comprehension.

  • Science and Nature: Our Pre-K program encourages a sense of wonder about the natural world. Students engage in age-appropriate science experiments, explore the outdoors, and learn about plants, animals, and the environment. This fosters curiosity and a lifelong appreciation for science.

  • Cultural Studies: We expose students to various cultures, traditions, and world geography. Through activities, art projects, and stories, Pre-K children gain an appreciation for diversity and develop a global perspective.

  • Art and Creativity: Creativity is nurtured through art, music, and movement. Pre-K students have opportunities to express themselves through drawing, painting, music, and dance. These activities enhance their fine motor skills and encourage self-expression.

  • Social and Emotional Development: Gloryland Montessori School places great emphasis on social and emotional development. Through group activities, cooperative play, and conflict resolution exercises, students learn important social skills like sharing, empathy, and effective communication.

  • Physical Education: Physical development is crucial at this age. Our Pre-K program includes age-appropriate physical activities and games that promote coordination, balance, and physical fitness.

  • Character Education: We instill values such as kindness, respect, and responsibility in our students. Through discussions, stories, and role-playing, Pre-K children learn important character traits that will serve as a strong moral foundation for their future.
